Sweet Sally Cinnamon - Double Chocolate Smart Cookies

Image
Jar gifts always look quirky and well presented. I especially like the baking jars, some containing cake, cookie, or other sweet treat mixes. Sweet Sally Cinnamon is a local business, in the Durham. They have a range of jar bakes as well as hot chocolate spoons, cinder toffee and hampers. Anyway, I recently used their Double Chocolate Smart Cookies. All you need is your jar of mix, two eggs, and 125g soft butter. Preheat oven to 200c conventional. Combine all the ingredients together using hands or a spoon, I used a spoon then used my hands to form the dough. Pop in fridge for 10 minutes to firm up. After 10 minutes form into small balls, the labels says it makes about 20 cookies. At first I was unsure but they do spread! And there we go! I wouldn't call them a cookie as such, just because they aren't really chewy or gooey but they are a great dunking biscuit, lovely with a cup of tea. Do you have a favourite biscuit? D

Daily Scrub

Image
Recently I went on the hunt for a daily scrub. I went to my usual go to, Simple but the shop I went into didn't have any stock of their scrub, disappointing! Have you tired this? Have you had a good or bad experience? Let me know in the comments!

My Holiday - Turkey 2013 - Take me back! I really want to apologise for the random-ness of this weeks posts, I normally try to post, Monday, Wednesday and Friday and this week it has been - Tuesday, Thursday and today (Saturday). I know that no one is really that bothered but it is kind of my own schedule and feel bad negating from that.

Soap and Glory - Whipped Clean

I was going to post something different today, however I popped in the shower a little earlier and could resist doing a post on this amazing product!

Sweet Sally Cinnamon Cookies

Image
Recently as a gift, I was given a jar of cookie mix to which I only had to add a few ingredients. Once I read the label I realised it was from a local business from around Newcastle. Sweet Sally Cinnamon , is a company based in Durham who make these jars as a gift idea. The premise being that you only have to add a few ingredients to get perfect home baked treats!

Dear Blog #2

Life has been quite hectic again recently, I am getting a few extra hours at work, we have had someone staying with us this week and I have been really tired. Normally I go to bed quite late, but recently I have been getting so drained I feel myself wanting to sleep at 9! I also feel like I am getting a cold, which I can do without, thanks! I hate being ill, especially when I am busy. Might have to get some cold and flu tablets and see what happens.

My Love Affair with Soap and Glory...

Image
As you have probably seen in previous posts, I absolutely adore Soap and Glory , I can't think of anything I haven't liked. They all smell amazing, do what they say on the tin, and leave your skin feeling soft and smelling great!

Chocolate Treats

Image
Who doesn't love a treat now and then? Well, me like most people really enjoy a good bit of chocolate. I love all chocolate milk, white and especially dark. I find that with milk and white chocolate I can eat a lot of it but for some reason because dark chocolate is so rich I don't have to eat as much and get the same... satisfaction? Do you know what I mean? Basically, I prefer dark chocolate. This is something my partner can't understand as they hate dark chocolate but loves both milk and white.

Dove Purely Pampering Body Oil

Image
I recently bought the Dove Purely Pampering Body Oil - Pistachio Cream and Magnolia . I got it at Costco on a whim, if I am honest, I thought it looked pretty and I really like Dove as a brand.

Dear Blog #1

Today I thought I would go for a little more of a relaxed post, as I have been super busy recently! Life is a little crazy at the moment, with working getting busier, we have a house inspection this week and trying to write some new content... is taking it's toll. Work is normally a bit crazy anyway, but I don't feel like I can relax at the minute with trying to keep the house looking perfect. Once the inspection is out of the way, it will be business as usual!

Toffee Oaty Squares

This is a recipe I have made a few times, and it's from Sue Lawerence's Book of Baking. This is a lovely recipe for treat bars that have an oaty base, toffee centre and a crumble top.
